Task:- To repair damaged metal side pods, reshape as original glass pods, then mould new fibreglass ones to match the side profile of the car.
This is a rare and valuable racing car and at some point in its’ past new aluminium side pods had been made, however viewed from the front the shape was clearly not correct. In order to make new pods the old ones had to be fixed and re-shaped before I could make moulds from them, I also had to remove the louvers. This job came in at the beginning of the year, but had to be ready for the new season. Time was tight, working weekends but the end result was well worth the effort, as the owner commented :-
"Hi Andy, I had an interesting day in the Cooper on Sunday. The car looks stunning and the lines you created with the new side panels are perfect. Thanks very much for your efforts.“
