Subject - Jaguar XJ12, Post Historic Touring Car.
Task: To make lighter boot and bonnet panels.
The metal panels in question, belong to the 2012 Post Historic Touring Car champion David Howard. For the 2013 season he wanted to shave off as much weight as possible from both the front and rear of the car. In total the boot and bonnet weighed in at 40kg. This was a simple but timely job of making good the original panels (no point in taking moulds from rusty dented ones), making the moulds and then producing the lighter fibreglass versions. In total we have saved 26kg...hopefully a winning result!
